Women, Land and LegacySM:
Building
Your Farms' Future Today
An Iowa
Outreach Project to Women
Iowa has a successful new outreach project—Women,
Land and Legacy: Building Your Farms' Future Today (WLL)SM. This project
was started in 2004 and is expanding and gaining interest from many parts
of Iowa. WLLSM involves government, non-profit organizations, and faith
based organizations and works to reach agricultural women in rural areas.
Goals of WLLSM
- For women to inform agencies and
organizations of their needs and what the agencies and organizations
can do to help meet those needs.
- To develop a local network of
agricultural women who will decide what programs, projects, and
information they need to assist them in their farming and conservation
decision making.
Vision
Statement
Women, Land
and LegacySM helps agricultural women
come together to converse, listen and become empowered to act on their
landscape and in their community.
Mission
Statement
Through
small group dialogue and focused conversation processes used by Women,
Land, and LegacySM, Iowa agricultural
women are given the opportunity to inform agencies and organizations of
their strengths and needs and what specific outreach strategies would
serve them best.
